Wealthy Chapter 396

Anyway, it’s still early in the morning and everyone is asleep in their sleep, so it’s good to let him go and make things easier.

Han Kun covered his stomach and walked behind the tree, while Huang Mao and I waited for him a short distance away.

As soon as we were free, Huang Mao pestered me with the same old story: “Brother, is it true that you’ll help me get a job? Can you get me a job as a security guard?”

“You want to be a security guard after all this time?”

“Don’t look down on security guards, they pay over three thousand a month. But I’m sure you special forces guys get paid more.”

I laughed, “I’m out of the army. You want to be a security guard, fine.”

“Really?” Yellow hair was excited and couldn’t believe me.

I talked to Yellow Hair and he told me more about this fortress of mine.

It turned out that the people in Blackwater Walled City were almost all similar to him, a walled city of people who couldn’t make a living on the outside.

Many of them used to be neighbours of Huang Mao and had similar experiences. After they existed and split the money from the demolition, the black gambling house opened into the temporary resettlement house for the demolition. These rural people had never seen so much money in their lives, and when they became rich at first, they couldn’t control their hands, and many of them lost everything, so they had no choice but to come to Blackwater Cottage to become a bandit.

I thought of Lin Kang, the boy who also got Lin Fang into trouble because he couldn’t pay his gambling debts. In a way, Huang Mao was much more pitiful than Lin Fang.

“Really, I have a friend who works at Junran in Tong City and can help you arrange to work as a security guard.”

“Junran! Is that the real estate company? The biggest company in Tong City!” Yellow Hair was particularly excited and shouted with a pressed voice.

“Keep your voice down. It’s there, and you’ll come to work when you turn 16.”

The boy’s heart wasn’t really bad; his situation was a bit like mine back then, and I wanted to help him as much as I had helped myself back then.

“I’ll be sixteen tomorrow, by the way, can Suran pay my insurance? And, does Surran have double shifts? I’ve heard that some big companies are so dodgy that they have to work weekends too, but just pay me overtime if you do.”

“You’re thinking big, should I get you a house and a car?” I laughed in exasperation, “Let’s get out of here.”

Yellow hair glanced over at the big tree, “Why is your uncle so slow?”

Indeed, Han Kun had been gone too long.

But I didn’t want to go and see Han Kun taking a sh*t, it would have ruined his image in my mind.

I told Huang Mao to check it out, and Huang Mao nimbly climbed up and walked towards the back of the tree, then he circled the tree three times, looked around, and his face went white.

I ran over to him, and Han Kun was gone.

“Where is he?” Yellow Hair asked.

sh*t! I knew it, I knew it!!!

This cottage turned out to be the Ji family cottage, not far from here is my grandfather’s former residence, where Han Kun built three villas with nothing in them but photo albums with my mother’s photos.

There was no way this could all be a coincidence!

He was as shrewd as a fox, so how could he have fallen for the trap of a group of mountain bandits? From the very beginning he was deliberately trying to come here! sh*t, I was the only fool who thought he needed saving, came all the way here and almost fell to his death under a cliff!

“Brother, the man is gone, what do we do now?” Yellow Hair asked me in a bit of a panic.

I squeezed one word out of my teeth, “Find.”

“How, how do we find them, if the village wakes up you won’t be able to get away.”

“Then find it too! What the hell is he doing here? I must find out even if I die today!”

Han Kun’s coming here must be related to the Ji family.

Xia Gehuai said he hadn’t left the country at all this year, his immigration records showed that he had been in China, so his trip to Denmark was a front and he was actually staying at this villa in the mountains.

In all the years I’ve known Han Kun, he’s never once mentioned my mother to me, and he’s rarely mentioned the Ji family to me.

If it wasn’t for the incident on the thoughtless mountain, I would have thought he had no contact with my grandfather’s family.

I ran around the fortress, not daring to make too much noise, even holding my breath, with Huang Mao following behind me, but we both couldn’t find Han Kun.

Everyone said that Han Kun and my mother had grown up together, but I didn’t see any sign of Han Kun in the photos.

I used to think that Han Kun was my mother’s neighbour, but I didn’t know until today that my mother couldn’t have had any neighbours at all, and that in the deep mountains of Li, only his family, the Ji family, lived here, and the rest of the neighbours were all tigers and wild bears.

Then who is Han Kun?

Han Kun is the one who gave me an a*s and used this lame excuse to leave me there and run off somewhere.

But that doesn’t mean he dumped me.

The ground in the countryside is all mud and it is easy to leave footprints. We followed Han Kun’s footprints all the way and surprisingly we came back to the square entrance of the cottage owner’s house.

“He tumbled in through there.”

Yellow Hair said, pointing to the pushed open window.

This was the west side of the Walled House, and I followed him in. Han Kun was rummaging through the cupboards, and the Walled House owner in the bedroom had long since been drugged out by Han Kun.

When he heard the movement behind him, Han Kun jumped up and looked back at me to make sure it was me yelling.

“What are you looking for?” I asked in a cold voice.

Han Kun took a couple of breaths and ignored me as he continued to rummage through the boxes.

I was sure that what he was looking for had something to do with my grandfather’s house, but why didn’t he tell me?

“What the hell are you looking for?! Han Kun, just how long are you going to keep this from me?!”

I asked in a low voice as I rushed up and broke his shoulders in anger.

“I don’t have time to explain to you now, so leave me alone.” As soon as Han Kun pushed me away, he continued his search.

What I couldn’t stand was him acting like this, making me look like an outsider when it was clearly my family’s business.

And I came to his rescue today regardless of everything, only for him to think of lying to me.

I was so furious that I rushed up and grabbed him by the neck and pinned him against the wall with a fierce hand, saying angrily, “What the hell is going on, if you don’t tell me, don’t look for it.”
