The Policewoman Chapter 50

When I woke up, it was already sunrise.

“Today is my big day, how could I have overslept?” Tang Hui Min felt a little chagrined as she remembered Smith’s talk last night about having her wedding with her today.

She hurriedly got out of bed to go to the toilet, and when she washed up, she realised that she was sleeping in Smith’s home.

She slowly recalled that last night Smith had told her that he would be welcoming her in the Chinese wedding custom, and therefore the itinerary for the mention was

They decided to skip the wedding ceremony, and Tang’s “family” would go straight to the ceremony hall, while she would stay at Smith’s house to get dressed and then go with him.

As soon as she opened the door to her room and was ready to go out, the make-up artist and a group of people who had been waiting outside swarmed around her and pushed her back into her room.

They all worked together to fix her hair and put on her make-up.

After a few shades of rouge and powder, Tang Hui Min, who was already naturally beautiful, shone brightly enough to turn people’s heads, and after everyone had admired and praised her beauty, they began to put on her bridal gown.

Her gown was simple and elegant: a white strapless bodice with a floor-length skirt of tulle with a silk underlay, embellished with a few simple patterns of floating flowers.

When she had finished dressing, the crowd was silent, and no one made any more guttural compliments, for, of all people present, they were stunned by her beauty.

At that moment, Smith, a tall blonde man, also suited and booted, walked in with a large belly.

“OH MYGOD!” Smith looked so satisfied to see how Vivian Tang looked that he couldn’t help but shout out.

He asked Vivian Tang to step into her high heels before she joined him in the limousine, which was followed by dozens of cars that circled around Liberty Island in a grand manner, and the motorcade pulled into the entrance of a large auditorium on the island and stopped.

After getting out of the car, Tang Huimin took Smith’s hand and, surrounded by the crowd, slowly walked into the auditorium.

In addition to the “friends and relatives” of both parties, there were also some of the island’s military officers and dignitaries from the surrounding islands and the Japanese kingdoms who had come to attend the wedding.

In this way, Smith’s status and position was fully demonstrated.

Tang Hui Min had no intention of climbing up the ladder, she only hoped that one of these people would recognise her and spot something unusual, come forward and get her out.

However, what she wanted more than anything else was to meet the familiar face of her young nephew, Lin Kai.

The wedding ceremony began at 12.08pm.

The officiant announced that representatives from both sides of the family and friends and the witnesses would come on stage to make speeches.

The officiant was a middle-aged man with an oriental face, handsome in appearance, a well-fitted suit that made him look spirited, and speaking fluent Mandarin.

Tang Hui Min had never seen it before, and this guy did not seem to be from Liberty Island.

It looked like Smith had gone to some trouble to welcome his bride with Eastern etiquette and had specially invited him from China, from somewhere else, presumably a friend of Smith’s.

Next, the MC asked Smith, “Mr Smith, do you take Ms Tang to be your wife? Do you willing that in good times and bad, in wealth and in poverty, in health and in sickness, in happiness and in sorrow, you will love her unreservedly and be faithful to her forever?”

“Willingly!” Smith said with an earnest nod as he gazed fondly at Vivian Tang.

“Do you, Mrs. Tang, take this man before you to be your lawful wedded husband and wife , in sickness and in health. Poor or rich, young and beautiful or old looking, are you always willing to be with him, to love each other, to cling to each other, to be with each other for the rest of your life, and never to leave him, do you so wish?”

“Willingly …… willingly ……” Although Tang Hui Min was very reluctant in her heart, she still followed the host and repeatedly recited these two words over and over again.

At this moment, the image of herself and Lin Kai walking into the wedding hall flashed in her mind.

In a trance, the man in front of her was not Smith, but Lin Kai. So, under the guidance of the officiant, Tang Hui Min took the initiative to exchange rings with Smith.

Smith smiled with satisfaction and said, “Darling, you know what? I love seeing this happy look on your face after you put on the ring.”

“Groomsmen, you may kiss the bride.” The celebrant announced loudly.

This meant the wedding was complete and Smith lifted up Vivian Tang’s veil and kissed her pa*sionately.

Finally, the wedding came to a successful conclusion in a grand atmosphere.

Smith and Vivian then went from table to table to toast their “friends and family”.

As it was the wedding day of Smith, the highest officer on Liberty Island, the entire island staff, as well as the officers and men on the patrol ship with the Japanese flag, were given the day off, except for a dozen soldiers who stayed on the ship.

On Liberty Island, there were lights and decorations everywhere, and it was full of festivity.

To add to the grand atmosphere, a large wedding party was held at 8pm in a large auditorium on Liberty Island.

So it was not long before Vivian Tang returned to Smith’s house to rest and hastily remove her bridal gown again to prepare for the evening party.

This time there was no make-up artist, she did everything herself, a compulsory part of her training on the island.

After putting on her make-up, to Tang’s amazement, she made herself look more delicate and bright than she had ever done in her bridal make-up in the morning.

At 8pm, the auditorium was lit up.

Smooth marble floors, toughened gla*s walls, crystal gla*s ceiling lights and seven-coloured lights shone brightly, while soothing and pleasant music echoed through the hall.

Wave after wave of cadres, officers, soldiers and guests poured into the auditorium, the whole hall accommodating four to five hundred people.

Most of the men and women were in pairs, the men in suits, all courteous, the women in a variety of evening gowns, all elegant in their manners.

When Smith and Vivian Tang appeared in pairs at the reception, they were immediately applauded by the audience.

Smith looked very mature, handsome and dapper in his designer suit, always smiling and looking very gentlemanly.

The red “Sirte” evening gown brought out a proud figure and an elegant, charming face.

A rectangular gla*s coffee table, decorated with flowers and candlelight, was set up with a variety of food, wine, champagne and drinks, while ladies in form-fitting cheongsams held trays of drinks and weaved in and out of guests.

The most beautiful bride of the evening, Vivian Tang was naturally the star of the show, holding a goblet with red wine in her hand and holding Smith’s hand as she toasted the guests one by one.

All the guests were impressed by Vivian’s gorgeous face and figure, as well as her elegant mannerisms and appropriate manners.

Gradually, the lights in the auditorium suddenly dimmed and the sound of soothing music echoed through the room.

A waiter dressed in red and wearing a white hat pushed a trolley through the door and the crowd automatically parted to stand in two rows as the trolley slowly approached towards Vivian Tang.

The candles on the cake emitted a soft glow, illuminating the beautiful, pretty face of Vivian Tang.

A reserved smile was on her face, and a red evening gown set off her figure in a subtle, bumpy and S*xy way.

……

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning pierced the vast expanse of space.

Boom!

After a loud bang, another bolt of lightning streaked through, illuminating the darkness and reflecting the ghastly whiteness of the surrounding area.

Rumble!

Thunder rumbled and a torrential downpour poured down.

Several dark shadows appeared like ghosts on Liberty Island amidst the curtain of rain, the sound of jumbled footsteps, hidden in the dripping rain, like waves buried in the sea.
