Hot Meets Cold Chapter 1819

Gu Group.

Vice President Qiu Likuan smiled and said, “President Gu is really wise! Let’s surprise her with a grand proposal that will shake the whole city. I doubt any woman can resist it.”

Gu Yueze leaned back on the sofa, sipping red wine with a slight smile on his lips. “I know Ye Wanyuan too well. After all, she is just a woman. The reason she plays those cat-and-mouse games with me and is mad at me is that she wants a status from me.”

“President Gu is wise! How could that little girl escape your grasp!” Qiu Likuan flattered and continued, “By the way, President Gu, I have already met with the CEO of Star Entertainment, Mr. Zhou. Although he is very arrogant, he was polite when he met me this time!”

Gu Yueze laughed, “Once I marry Ye Wanyuan, not only Star Entertainment but also Star Group will belong to Gu. Will he dare not be polite to you?”

Qiu Likuan immediately laughed, “What President Gu said is true!”

At this time, there was a knock on the door of the office, and a young assistant walked in.

“President Gu…” The assistant hesitated to speak.

Gu Yueze asked, “What is it?”

“Miss Ye…wants to see you…” The assistant reported.

Gu Yueze’s eyes lit up, but then he immediately turned gloomy. “Miss Ye… Ye Yiyi?”

“Yes, she has been waiting outside for a long time and refused to leave no matter what I said.” The assistant said helplessly.

“Then let her wait.” Gu Yueze said indifferently and continued to talk with Qiu Likuan.

The assistant could only retreat.

At the front desk of Gu Group, the assistant soon returned and spoke coldly to Ye Yiyi, “Miss Ye, please go back. President Gu is really busy.”

Ye Yiyi raised her hand and slapped the assistant, “You b*tch! How dare a mere assistant talk to me like this! It was me who arranged for you to work at Gu Group! How dare you stop me!”

The assistant’s face immediately turned red and swollen, full of grievances, and then angrily said, “Ye Yiyi, who do you think you are? Do you still think you are the future Mrs. Gu? You are just a piece of trash that President Gu doesn’t want. What kind of power are you trying to show off in front of me!”

“What did you say? How dare you…” Ye Yiyi was stunned and could not believe it.

“Am I talking nonsense? Go check the news yourself! Everyone in the capital knows about this! President Gu will propose to Miss Ye Wanyuan of Star Group tomorrow. Who do you think you are?”

It was not until the security guard came and pulled them apart, and then threw Ye Yiyi out that the quarrel finally stopped.

Outside the door of Gu Group, Ye Yiyi’s hair was disheveled, and her clothes were torn…

As she walked, tears streamed down her face, blurring her vision. She couldn’t believe that the man she loved was about to propose to someone else. She had always thought that she and Gu Yueze had a special connection, a deep bond that couldn’t be broken. But now, it seemed that she had been nothing more than a passing fancy to him.

Lost in her thoughts, she didn’t realize where she was going until she found herself standing in front of a small park. It was deserted, with only a few benches and a fountain in the center. As she approached the fountain, she noticed a man sitting on one of the benches, staring off into the distance.

He was tall and lean, with broad shoulders and strong arms. His hair was a deep shade of black, and his features were sharp and angular. He was dressed in a simple white shirt and black pants, and there was a quiet confidence about him that she found alluring.

As she approached, he turned to look at her, his eyes locking onto hers. They were a bright, piercing blue, and they seemed to see right through her.

“Are you okay?” he asked, his voice deep and rich.

She shook her head, tears still streaming down her face.

He stood up and walked over to her, taking her hand in his. “Come, let’s sit,” he said, leading her to the bench.

For a while, they sat in silence, watching the water flow in the fountain. Eventually, she spoke up.

“I thought I had everything figured out,” she said, her voice choked with emotion. “I thought I had found the man of my dreams, but now…now I don’t know what to do.”

He looked at her with a kind expression, his eyes full of empathy. “Love is a funny thing,” he said. “It has a way of making us think we know what we want, only to pull the rug out from under us.”

She looked at him, surprised by his words. “Do you believe in love?” she asked.

He nodded. “Of course I do. But I also believe that love is not something we can control. It’s something that happens to us, whether we want it to or not. And sometimes, it doesn’t work out the way we planned.”

She sighed, feeling a sense of comfort in his words. “What do I do now?” she asked.

He smiled at her, a gentle expression on his face. “You pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep moving forward. You never know what the future holds, but one thing is for sure – it’s always full of surprises.”

As he spoke, she felt a sense of hope stir inside her. Maybe things hadn’t worked out with Gu Yueze, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t find happiness elsewhere.

“Thank you,” she said, turning to him with a grateful expression.

He smiled at her, his eyes shining. “Anytime. Just remember – the best is yet to come.”
